Prescott Community Conversation on organ donation

Join us for an evening of celebration and education.  Have you “Checked the Box” to be an organ donor? Do you donate blood?  Have you registered to be a bone marrow or blood stem cell donor? Come learn about each of these things you might be able to do to help save someone’s life at the next Prescott Conversation scheduled for Thursday, March 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the Prescott Performing Arts Center.

A LifeSource ambassador will be sharing their personal story as it relates to organ, eye and tissue donation or transplantation, as well as basic facts and information about donation.

A representative from the American Red Cross will be speaking to the critical shortage of blood donations, how donations are used and how you can help. Be The Match will also have a digital presentation addressing the rapid changes in bone marrow donations and how many of these donations can now be done by extracting stem cells from your blood.

We’ll end the evening with a Celebration of Life reception – we’ll have computers  available so that you can register to be a donor and we’ll l be celebrating all  of those in our community that are donor recipients, those that are donors, and  those with a family member that have “Checked the Box” and saved others’ lives.

If you and or a family member fit one of these categories, please call the Prescott Community Education Office at 715-262-4676 or email Penny at ppeters2@prescott.k12.wi.us, so we can include your name at the reception. Donations will be accepted to help keep the Community Conversations series going.

The Community Conversations series is sponsored by Prescott Community Education. For questions, please contact the office at 715-262-4676 or by emailing ppeters2@prescott.k12.wi.us
