Grammy Winner Pat Donohue Returns to WideSpot on Saturday, Feb. 16

STOCKHOLM – Pat Donohue, a master of finger picking guitar, returns to WideSpot for a sure-to-be wonderful concert on Saturday, February 16th.  You may recognize him from his twenty year stint with the Guys All Star Shoe Band from the radio series Prairie Home Companion.  Expect to hear charming original tunes, as well as covers of songs by artists as diverse as Blind Blake, Robert Johnson, Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, with a classical composer or two, just for variety.

In honor of that, Stockholm Pie will be featuring a close to Valentine’s day special, from 4 pm to 7 pm.  Mention that you’re attending the show and get a deal on a sandwich, pot pie or a salmon lefse wrap.  They’re also offering a deal on either slices of either raspberry cream cheese or chocolate silk pie.  They  both taste great, so get one for you and one for your date!

WideSpot is located on the second floor of the old opera house in Stockholm, Wisconsin, just above the pie shop, located at the corner of State Highway 35 and County Road J.  Unfortunately, we are not wheelchair accessible.  There’s a bar with craft beer and wine, as well as Maiden Rock cider, along with soda and water.  Advance tickets at $15 are strongly recommended.  Tickets for this show and upcoming shows are available through the web site at www.widespot.org, or by calling 715-307-8941.  The doors will open at 6:30 pm, with showtime at 7 pm.

WideSpot offers a variety of programming, ranging from musical performances, to theater productions, to spoken word performances.  Upcoming performances include shows by the Irish Band Four Pints Shy, our upcoming spring show featuring the WideSpot players, Robbie Fulks and the ever popular Goin’ Coastal variety show.
