A public hearing on special assessments for the planned street project for Hampshire, James and Henry streets is back on the agenda of the Prescott City Council tonight starting at 6:30 p.m.
The hearing was postponed at the last city council meeting due to an objection raised by citizen Thomas Langenfeld. He stated he could not get a fair hearing on the assessments and asked that three members of the council, Josh Gergan, Robert Daugherty and Bill Dravis recuse themselves on the matter. The council agreed to postpone the hearing and consult legal opinion on the matter,
Also on the agenda is opening of bids for the street project, an operator's license request and a request to use North Acres Roads and streets in the St. Croix Bluff Development for a 5K "fun run" on June 3. The city will also consider a letter of recommendation in support for a grant to develop playing field along Dexter St. next to the new high school.
The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at the City Building at 800 N. Borner St.
