The Prescott native started as new guy as a freshman at Bemidji State University playing men’s basketball back in the fall of 2015 and the same would be true the same time a year later after transferring to UW-River Falls, also playing on the hoops squad.
“I was a little nervous at first,” Seifert said. “But I knew Coach (Jeff) Berkhof from when he recruited when I was playing in high school and I was able to become friends right away with Alex Herink, who like me also transferred from a D-II school (Minnesota State-Mankato) and is from Hudson.”
Of course, it also helped Seifert’s teammates made it easy for him to transition on to his new team for the 2016-17 season. And it also helped this season has been one of the best in school history for UWRF as the Falcons have won both the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) regular season and tournament titles and have qualified for the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Tournament for just the third time in school history. UWRF is 24-3 overall.
