Prescott City Council approves bid for street project

The Prescott City Council unanimously approved a bid for its upcoming street project of James, Henry and Hampshire streets at its meeting Monday, March 27 at the City Building. All members were present but Alderman Josh Gergen. Mayor David Hove presided.

The low bid was for $532,978 from Haas and Sons Inc. of Thorp. The company came recommended by the city’s engineering firm Cedar Corp. out of Menomonie.

The council also unanimously approved an operator’s license for Joshua Todd Jenkins of Prescott. And they unanimously approved a request from Body Works fitness center in Prescott to use N. Acres Rd. and the streets in the St. Croix Bluffs Development for a 5K Fun Run/Walk on June 3. The board also approved a letter of support a grant request for Prescott Community Recreation (PCR) from the Prescott Foundation to develop athletic fields along Dexter St. near the new high school.
