ELLSWORTH - The Pierce County Board of Supervisors will consider selling county owned land in Oak Grove Township.
A resolution to authorizing the sale was given its first reading at the county board meeting held last night at the courthouse.
The land in question sandwiches 435th Ave just above the town's border with Diamond Bluff Township. It's eight acres that was part of the planned Diamond Bluff Estates but fell into county hands after the developer became insolvent in the latter part of the last decade and other parts of the development were sold off at auction.
Local landowner Chris Brekken has inquired to the county if it would be selling the land to help with access to adjacent agricultural land he owns and for any future development plans.
The Parks Committee of the County Board recommended the sale. The board will consider the sale at the next county board meeting April 18 at 9 a.m.
