Tulip, a junior with a 32-13 overall record, clinched a state berth after winning his 106-pound semifinal match over Osceola's Andrew Olson. He finished third in the meet as top three move on to state.
Sanford, also a junior with a 38-3 overall record, pinned St. Croix Central's Ryan Larsen, in their 195-pound semifinal match, to clinch a trip to Madison. Sanford finished second in the tournament.
Also placing for the Cardinals were Matt McNurlin, fourth at 170 and Dillon Kimmen, fourth at 220 pounds.
Tulip and Sanford will wrestle in preliminary round Thursday evening at the Kohl Center on the UW-Madison campus beginning at 7 p.m.
