Prescott held a slight lead at halftime 25-19 but outscored the Panthers, 11-10 overall and 7-6 overall, 15-2 to start the second half thanks to hot shooting from the outside. The Cardinal expanded their lead to as much as 28 points before a late Ellsworth rally cut the lead 14 points.
Prescott was led in scoring by Pete Brookshaw with 25 points and Luke Murphy finished with 22 points.
PHS improved to 18-3 overall and 13-0 in the Middle Border Conference. The Cardinals host St. Croix Central in their regular season finale Monday evening at 7:15 p.m.
