PHS defeated St. Croix Central 79-55 to finish 14-0 and conference champions for the third straight season. The Cardinals concluded its regular season 19-3 overall.
After trading baskets with the Panthers, 11-11 overall, for the first portion of the first half, the Cards' went on a run to lead 39-25 at halftime. Prescott then outscored SCC 40-20 in the second half.
Luke Murphy led PHS in scoring with 17 points while fellow seniors Owen Hamilton and Nick Simon both scored 14 points. They along with seniors Keaton Roeder, Jake Block, Marcus Sterud, Bo Smith and Cameron Holte were honored in their final regular season contest at PHS.
"It's a remarkable achievement what this senior class has accomplished and been a part of for the past four years," PHS head coach Nick Johnson said. "This is a sport where it's very difficult to go undefeated in conference play given the advanced scouting and preparation which go into eah game and the fact they're getting their opponent best shots in each ballgame. It's truly amazing what they've accomplished."
Prescott is off until March 3 when they host the semifinal game of their WIAA Division 3 regional tournament. They will play the winner of the Barron vs. Baldwin-Woodville contest.
