Plans to create baseball and softball diamonds on a portion of unused land southwest of Prescott High School along Dexter St. were revealed at this month's Prescott School Board meeting held on Wednesday.
Prescott Schools Athletic Director Kyle Igou described a plan to create two youth softball fields and and one youth baseball field with fencing, a backstop, dugouts, a storage building and announcing tower.
The project will be done in phases starting in the summer of this year with the field and fencing portion of the work completed and ready to play by the spring of 2018. The total cost is estimated around $144,000 and this is money which will have to be raised to support the project.
