PHS Girls Basketball Team opens season at Glenwood City Tuesday

The Prescott High School Girls Basketball team begins the 2016-17 season at Glenwood City Tuesday evening. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.

The Cardinals are looking to show vast improvement from a 6-17 overall record last season and head coach Ron Murphy thinks they can with six returning letter winners.

"Our team chemistry is really strong," Murphy said. "The girls trust each other and I feel we will be stronger on offense and solid on defense."

PHS returns top scorer Heather Furlong, who made second team All-Middle Border Conference last season. Also back are fellow sophomore Ali Murphy, juniors Katelyn Miller and Hope Miner and seniors Alysse Lewis and Kelsey Penk.
