PHS duo sign National Letters of Intent to play college sports

Prescott High School held a signing ceremony for seniors Owen Hamilton and Bekah Miller as they put their names on National Letters of Intent (NLOI) to play college sports next fall.

With their parents beside them, Hamilton, a 7-0 center on the PHS Boys' Basketball Team, signed his NLOI to play college basketball at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Ill. Miller, a volleyball player at Prescott, signed a NLOI to St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minn.  Both schools are nicknamed the "Huskies".

PHS Athletic Director Kyle Igou MCed the ceremony. Prescott's boys basketball coach Nick Johnson and Prescott volleyball coach Patti Tulip both praised their players for their hard work and dedication to get their way to play on the collegiate level. As Igou pointed out, only two percent of high school athletes sign NLOI's in all collegiate sports.
