New business in Prescott is Diversified Manufacturing Inc.

The Prescott City Council gave final approval to plans for new business to re-locate in the TIF No. 5 district on the outskirts of Prescott in the Hwy. 10 and Hwy. 29 triangle during its meeting Monday evening.

Diversified Manufacturing Corp. (DMC) will occupy a 190,000-square foot, two story facility on Hwy.  10 and Dexter St. next to UNFI. The council also unanimously approved a certified survey map to build a service road through the property.

DMC has its headquarters in Newport, Minn. and its plant in Cottage Grove, Minn. As the company is growing its business, DMC decided to build a brand new plant on open land in Prescott. It currently employs 80 persons and has committed to add 80 additional persons to its payroll as it moves its entire operation to Prescott.

The company is a contract manufacturer of various non-hazardous household products such as: over-the-counter (OTC) active skincare, cosmeceuticals, acne products, sunscreens and personal grooming products.  It also packages and warehouses them as well and has R&D division for said products as well. According to its website the company is: "FDA, EPA, ATF, and Haz. Mat. approved facility, operating under strict Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP) guidelines."
