Perfect serving with a pair of aces from sophomore Kaelyn Lewis along with 32 combined kills from the Miller sisters Katelyn and Bekah brought the Cardinals back from the brink of being swept on Senior Night in the final regular season home game at Prescott. Bekah Miller, one of those seniors along with Maddie Groskopf, Molly Hoopingarner and Cassie Janovec, also finished with nine blocks.
The win also helps the Cards' cause of getting a first-round home match when the regional tournament begins on Oct. 18. The seeding meeting is next Wednesday.
PHS, improves to 16-12 overall and 4-2 in the Middle Border Conference. They handed the Panthers their first loss in league play this season. The Redbirds play in the La Crosse Logan Tournament this Saturday.
