PHS harrier teams finish in upper-half of MBC meet

OSCEOLA - Prescott High School's Cross Country Team came out of the Middle Border Conference meet Thursday afternoon with a pair of upper-half finishes in the conference.

Prescott was third in the girls team standings and fourth in the boys. Osceola won the boys' team title and New Richmond took first in the girls.

PHS had five runners make the all-conference teams (Top 14 runners, seven on the first team and seven on the second team). In the boys race, Phil Pena finished second
in 17:37; Cody Hauenstein placed fifth in 18:09 and Dylan Rieken was 11th in 18:30. In the girls' race Sam Ritter placed fourth in 21:26 and Hayley Hillman finished 14th in 21:54.

Prescott will next compete in the WIAA Division 2 Rice Lake Sectional next week Friday, Oct. 21 on the campus of UW-Barron County. For more on the MBC race read next week's Prescott Journal, on newsstands and in town Wednesday.
