New playground at Malone Intermediate nearing fundraising goal

Fundraising for a new playground at Malone Intermediate School is about two-thirds toward their goal.

The Malone Parent Committee’s “Slide Into Action” fundraising campaign has raised nearly $40,000 in grants and other funds from the community to help build a new playground at Malone Intermediate School.

Such funds include monies raised from receipts donated by Ptacek’s IGA, River City Stitch, the Malone Student Council, Allina Medical Center, and a $10,000 from the Parent’s Committee itself.

The campaign also raised $300 from Cheryl Brownell’s Bake Sale during Prescott Daze and monies raises from bracelet sales. At least $1,600 have been raised through the website GoFundMe.
Much of the money raised comes from a $22,500 grant from Game Time. However, the remaining $20,572 needs to be raised by Nov.13 for the grant to still be valid to use for the new playground. The funds cover all the equipment (including equipment which is handicapped accessible), delivery and installation.

For people wishing contribute so the campaign meets its goal of $60,000, go to this webpage: http://www.prescott.k12.wi.us/slide.html to learn of the many ways they can help or send your check directly to Malone Parent Committee/Playground Fund, 1220 St. Croix Street, Prescott, WI 54021.
