WASHINGTON D.C. – President Obama has issued a major disaster declaration for the state of Wisconsin. By declaring a major disaster federal funds will be provided to help address the areas impacted by September’s severe weather and flooding.
Recently, Congressman Ron Kind lead the Wisconsin delegation in requesting President Obama make this declaration.
“I applaud President Obama's attention to this matter and timely action. Over the last month, I saw the damage first-hand when I visited many of the impacted communities to talk with residents, farmers, and local, state, and federal officials about what is needed to rebuild. Today’s declaration is an important first step in delivering the resources and funds that our communities have requested, and I look forward to working to make sure the funds get to the areas that need them the most,”
