Prescott High School cross country teams sweep Prescott Invite

For the second meet in a row this season and the second straight year, Prescott High School's cross country team won both the boys' and girls' team titles at the Prescott Invitational meet Tuesday afternoon at Malone Intermediate School.

The PHS boys', led by a 1-2-3 finish from Philip Pena, Cody Hauenstein and Dylan Rieken, won their portion of the five-team meet with the low score of 23 points. Pena's winning time on the 5000-meter course was 17:19 followed by Hauenstein's 18:02 and Rieken's time of 18:42. All of PHS's runners finished in the top 16 and four had times under 20 minutes.

The Prescott girls had all seven of their runners in the top 15 and four runners in the top 10. The Cardinals' team score was 32. Kjerstin Carlson had the Cards' best finish in third in 21:39 followed by Sam Ritter, fourth in 21:47; Hayley Hillman, fifth in 21:59 and Alysse Lewis, eighth in 23:17.
