PHS cross country teams both finish third at SCC Invite

HAMMOND - Despite wet and muddy conditions on the course, both the Prescott boys' and girls' cross country teams' placed third out of 12 teams competing in the St. Croix Central Invitational late Thursday afternoon. Both Cardinal squads scored 74 points.

PHS's boys' team had three runners place in the top 10. Cody Hauenstein finished fifth in 18:09 on the 5000-meter course followed by Phil Pena was sixth, also at 18:09 and Dylan Rieken placed eighth in 18:19.

In the girls meet, the Cards' had three runners place in the top 15. Sam Ritter finished fifth in 21:55; Hayley Hillman was eighth in 22:10 and Kjerstin Carlson placed 14th in 23:16.
