Next generation employees reinvigorate St. Croix Interiors

During the Prescott Daze Car Show, St. Croix Interiors, located at 139 Broad St. where the show will take place, plans on having a booth and table display like other vendors, weathering permitting.

“We’ll be putting out carpet samples for display, which people like,” store owner Tracy Franek said. “People can buy them for a dollar each I they want and we’ll have giftware for sale at fifty percent off. We’re also running a promotion: one yard free for every 10-yard purchase."

But the booth is also about display a renewed spirit in the small business with a new generation of employees leading the way.

Franek’s business partner Mike Erie retired back on July 4 and Tracy’s husband Joe also decided to call it quits as an installer of carpets and floor tile this summer as well.

“After 35 years of this my body pretty much gave out,” Joe Franek said. “I’ve been waiting for the days my boys could take over since they were picking up scraps at work assignments when they were little kids.”

Indeed, those days came around as his sons, 23-year old Joe Jr. and 18-year old Zachary have become the new installers for St. Croix.
