ST. CROIX FALLS - The Prescott High School football team was shutout by St. Croix Falls 21-0 Friday in a non-conference contest. The Cardinals' overall record falls to 0-2.
Prescott played solid defense through much of the game but wore down by the end as the Saints, 1-1 overall, scored two rushing touchdowns in the second half after leading only 6-0 at halftime.
Turnovers hurt Prescott's offense again as they committed three in the first half alone and four for the ballgame.
Prescott's first Middle Border Conference game is next Friday at No. 5 ranked Ellsworth, who is 2-0 after a 47-14 win over Colfax Friday.
