Three Prescott High School athletic teams were in action yesterday as the high school sports season is fully underway for PHS.
The Prescott High Girls Golf team competed in a Middle Border Conference meet at Osceola. The Cardinals shot a combined score of 224, good for sixth place in their first league meet of the season.
The PHS cross country team had its first meet of the season, the X-Treme Invitational hosted by UW-River Falls. Samantha Ritter was 10th and Hailey Hillman was 17th individually in the girls' meet, while Cody Hauenstein was 17th for the
Meanwhile, over in Hammond, the PHS volleyball team was in action in a quadrangular meet at St. Croix Central High School. The Cards finished 2-1 in the meet for second place, defeating both Hudson and Greenwood while losing to the host Panthers in three games. Prescott is 4-2 on the season so far.
Tonight, the Prescott football team will be at St. Croix Falls for its second game of he season. Kick-off is at 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on KDWA Radio out of Hastings, Minn.
