Prescott Pirates top Hager City in seven innings

HAGER CITY - The Prescott Pirates baseball team snapped a two-game St. Croix Valley Baseball League (SCVBL) losing streak by beating up Hager City Wednesday evening 14-4 in seven innings at Brown Field in Hager City.

Prescott led just 5-2 until the fifth and sixth inning when they combined for seven runs to lead 12-4. They put the game away in the top of the seventh with a two-RBI single from Tim Eaton. Billy Brookshaw ripped a two-RBI double in the sixth as well.

Evan Bayer started the game for Prescott and was the winning pitcher. Ryan Burmeister pitched the final two innings for the Pirates.

Prescott improves to 10-4 overall and 6-2 in the SCVBL. Prescott is back at home Saturday for a 1 p.m. league contest vs. St. Croix Falls.
