OAK GROVE TWP. - The Oak Grove Township Board unanimously agreed to a motion to take responsibility for the roads in the housing subdivision known as the Estates of Diamond Bluff after residents there presented a check to the board of $10,500 down payment for their maintenance costs during the town's monthly meeting Monday evening.
The question of road maintenance in the housing development as taken a good portion of the board's time this spring and a special meeting of the board on this topic took place last week. The money was good faith contribution collected by residents out of a total cost of $29,000 estimate, the rest of which will be paid for by mid-summer if all goes as planned.
The residents in the subdivision who attended the meeting presented plans to get the roads up to township specification so the town can sealcoat them.
