Borner Farm license contested at city council meeting

The granting of a Class B beer and a Class C wine licenses for the Borner Farm generated a plenty of discussion during the Prescott City Council's regular meeting held Monday evening.

The council agreed to grant the licenses but the Farm will have to take steps to alleviate traffic problems from their Friday evening pizza night. The problems have become acute enough that 13 neighbors of the Farm signed a petition asking the pizza night's be discontinued. The night's take place every other Friday from May through October.

The council put stipulations on the licenses, saying the Farm must work with the Prescott Police Department to control traffic in what's become a popular dining event, such as only allowing parking on the Farm side of the street for the rest of the season. The council also wanted a person-count taken of how many attendees it has.

Read about this and more about Monday's city council meeting in next week's Prescott Journal, on newsstands and in town next Wednesday.
