Showdown between Prescott and B-W prep softball set for today

Prescott High School's softball team topped New Richmond yesterday 8-1 in a re-scheduled Middle Border Conference contest at Biggs Field. It was Prescott's 11th win in a row as the Cardinals improve to 20-1 overall and 12-1 in the MBC.

So everything is now set for the Cardinals as they take on Baldwin-Woodville this afternoon at 5 p.m. at Millpond Park in Baldwin. The Blackhawks are 16-5 overall and 12-0 in the league. They still have one more conference contest to play Friday vs. Ellsworth.  If Prescott wins they will gain at least share of the conference title.

Prescott also received their WIAA regional tournament assignment yesterday. The Cards have a first round-bye as the No. 2 seed in the sectional semifinal bracket. They will take on the winner of the Ellsworth-Amery match-up Wednesday, May 25 at Biggs Field in Prescott. The regional final is on May 27.
