PHS lead 1-0 and 2-1 in their first two at bats thanks to an RBI-single by Peter Brookshaw in the first inning and an RBI-sacrifice on a fielder's choice by Nick Simon in the second. But Ellsworth repsonded in the bottom half of the first two innings, particularly in the second when, down 2-1 with two outs, the Panthers had an RBI-double from Jordan Walter and an RBI-single from Spencer Schroeder to take a 3-2 lead.
Both starting pitchers settled after the first two innings, EHS's Jake Sigler and PHS's Elliot Deutsch. But with Panthers ahead Prescott had to take the loss as Sigler struck out six Cardinal batters and held them to just five base runners over five innings.
The win knocks Prescott out of first place in the MBC as New Richmond won Tuesday 14-4 over Osceola. NR is 6-2 while Ellsworth and Prescott are both 5-3.
