MEDFORD - The Prescott High School Track and Field team will compete with two relay squads and in three individual events at next weekend's WIAA State Track and Field Meet in La Crosse. State qualifiers were made at yesterday Division 2 Medford Sectional meet.
Both of PHS's 3200-meter relay teams qualified. The girls 3200-meter team of Molly Sweet, Sam Ritter, Hailey Hillman and Annika Carlson won Prescott's lone sectional title. They ran a season-best time of 9:58.58, breaking the 10 minute barrier.
The boys' 3200-meter squad of Nolan Schock, Bobby Barksdale, Cody Hauenstein and Phillip Pena also ran a season-best time of 8:18.84 and finished in fourth place. The top four placewinners from each sectional event go on to the state meet.
Also qualifying for Prescott were Nolan Schock for the second year in a row in the 800-meter run. He finished second in a time of 2:01.53, Molly Sweet in the 1600-meter run after finishing third in 5:20.02 and Jennifer Kleinschmidt in the 100-meter high hurdles ash she finished third in a time of :16.11.
