PHS Softball shuts out Somerset, now 17-1

The Prescott High School Softball team improved to 17-1 overall and 9-1 in the Middle Border Conference with a 6-0 win at home over Somerset Thursday evening.

Winning pitcher Kaili Wescott struck out eight in a one-hit performance. She retired 12 Spartan batters in a row and in the fifth struck out the side, part of an eight-K effort.

Molly Hoopingarner hit a double for the Cardinals and Hope Miner and McKenzie Carey also had  hits. PHS took advantage of seven wild pitches and three past balls to advance base runners.

Prescott hosts New Richmond this evening at Biggs Field starting at 5 p.m.
