PHS Baseball edges Pine Island 6-5

The Prescott High School Baseball Team used a seventh inning rally to beat Pine Island, Minn. 6-5 in a non-conference game on a cold, cloudy and blustery Friday afternoon at Firehall Field.

Down 5-4 in their last at bats, Prescott's Peter Brookshaw got on base with a lead-off double. Then a single by Mike Harris scored Brookshaw to tie the game.

Luke Murphy's bunt moved both of PHS base runners to second and third base which was followed by an RBI-single from Brad Schommer scored Harris for the winning run.

The win improves Prescott's overall record to 11-5. The Cards play a key Middle Border Conference contest in New Richmond Saturday at Citizen's Park. First pitch is at 7 p.m.
