By a vote of 778-744, the referendum offered by the Prescott School District to exceed the levy caps went down to defeat.
The "yes" vote carried only the City of Prescott by a 412-378 margin. Elsewhere in the district the referendum was voted down.
In the portion of Trimbelle Township where the district line is at with Ellsworth the margin was 12-8 No.
In Diamond Bluff it was 25-10 No.
In Clifton the margin was 123-106 No.
And in the Town of Oak Grove the margin was 240-208 No.
The Prescott School Board meets Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. The district can call for another referendum this calendar year but has months before it can do so. The is the first time the district has lost a levy cap referendum.
