Prescott City Council approves energy savings plan for public buildings

Looking to save more money through energy efficiency, the Prescott City Council is looking at various projects to public buildings to create such savings and unanimously passed a resolution at their meeting last week Monday, Jan. 25 to find companies willing to do so.

The resolution calls for the city to find companies locally or regionally with expertise in such energy efficiency work and which would not require the city to necessarily accept the lowest bids for such projects but accept those bids which can create the most efficiencies.

Such future public projects include replacing the HVAC machine in the city building creating more energy efficient lighting at Freedom Park.
