The Panthers, 1-20 overall, shot very well from the field in the first half to build a 26-14 halftime lead. Prescott's defense clamped down in the second half, holding EHS without a field goal until the 9:17 mark. PHS came within two points of taking the lead at 36-34 with 3:30 to go but came no closer as the Panthers hit key shots and free-throws in the final few minutes.
The Cardinals' Heather Furlong led all scorers with 13 points but no one else for PHS was in double figures. Ellsworth had 12 point games from Emma Swanson and Natalie Feuerhelm (who made four three-pointers) and key seven-point contributions from Allyson Stoetzel and Caitlin Dahl. Ali Murphy finished with nine points for Prescott.
The Cards' close the regular season with a 6-17 overall record. Ellsworth advances to the regional semifinals Friday evening at No. 3 seed Baldwin-Woodville.
