PHS Dance Team prepares to win gold again at state

The Prescott High School Dance Team is back in La Crosse for this weekend's Wisconsin Association of Cheer and Pom Coaches State Meet.

The meet will be held Saturday at the La Crosse Center beginning at 9 a.m. Doors open at 7 a.m. and the competion will go all day. Small schools will go first followed by the large schools.

Prescott will perform its pom routine at 9:44 a.m. and then its jazz routine at 1:08 p.m. Awards will be given out at 3 p.m.

The Cardinals have finished first in both jazz and pom performances in all of the competitive meets they've been in this winter. They qualified for state by winning first place at the regional meet in New Richmond last weekend. Their jazz performance alone have earned the highest point totals from judges of all schools and performances at these meets.

PHS returned to first place at the state level last years after finishing second in 2014 in both jazz and pom. From 2000-13 the Cardinals had finished first in at least one event.
