Yesterday's Groundhog Day blizzard dumped over seven inches of snow in the Prescott area, causing a Snow Alert to be called.
The snowstorm moved into the area just before 11 a.m. and the heaviest amounts, up to an inch an hour, fell that afternoon. This was followed up by blowing snow from wind gusts up to 35 mph.
Prescott Schools closed early yesterday and were delayed two hours this morning. Many area events and meetings were cancelled and businesses closed early as well.
