PHS Dance Team wins MBC title last weekend

EAU CLAIRE - The Prescott High School Dance Team participated in the Middle Border Conference competition at Memorial High School on Saturday, January 16.   

The team placed first in both Pom and Jazz, and received the top two scores for the entire competition, which also included Big Rivers Conference and the Dunn-St. Croix Conference.

The PHS Dance Team also sent two duets to the Conference competition’s Ensemble category: juniors Paige Payne and Kaitlyn Timmins and sophomores Emma Carlson and Madison Dorau. The Carlson/Dorau duet was the first place ensemble for the Middle Border Conference.

This year’s Dance Team Middle Border Conference champions include: Seniors: Kaitlyn Bretoi, Brooklyn Kemmerer, Claudia Munsen, Kailie Paulson.  Juniors: Paige Payne, Kaitlyn Timmins.  Sophomores: Emma Carlson, Kjerstin Carlson, Olivia Demski, Madison Dorau, Madison Hoikka, Samantha Matzek, Mari Sommer.  Freshmen: Mckenzie Cogan, Maddie Horn, Mackenzie Huppert. 
Head Coach: Samantha Schoen.  Managers: Grace Carlson, Isabel Matzek. 

The dance team’s next scheduled performance is at the Regional competition on Saturday, January 30 at New Richmond High School.
