The No. 5 ranked PHS boys' team downed Highway 10 rival Ellsworth by a 71-46 score in Ellsworth.
The Cardinal girls' basketball team won at New Richmond 47-37, avenging a 26-point beatdown the Tigers put on them back in November.
Prescott's boys' were led by Peter Brookshaw's triple-double: 24 points and 10 rebounds and assists. Brookshaw scored 21 points in the first half, including five three-pointers. Mike Harris finished with 15 points for the Cards.
PHS made seven three-point shots in the ballgame which proved crucial as 7-0 junior center Owen Hamilton aggrevated an ankle injury he suffered against River Falls back on Tuesday as sat out much of the contest. Brookshaw's scoring offset Prescott's lack of depth.
Prescott improves to 9-2 overall and 6-0 in the MBC, their 23rd straight league win. With St. Croix Central losing on Thursday to Osceola, Prescott is alone atop the league standings as they play SCC Tuesday in Hammond with the Panthers a game back.
Meanwhile, the Prescott girls' basketball team is back at .500 in the MBC with their 10-point win at New Richmond. PHS's league record is 4-4, 4-7 overall, and they are in fourth place in the league standings.
Prescott's girls basketball team is back home Tuesday after a five-game road trip. The Cardinals host St. Croix Falls in a non-conference game. Tip-time is at 7:30 p.m.
