ELLSWORTH - Prescott resident Rose Marie Kuehni pleaded not guilty to felony charges of murder and hiding a corpse during her arraignment this morning at the Pierce County Courthouse.
In front of new trial judge James Duvall of the Buffalo/Pepin counties circuit, Kuehni pleaded not guilty to charges which could sentenced her to life in prison.
Kuehni's attorney Mark Gherty requested that the judge reduce Kuehni's bond from $100,000 to $20,000 and that restriction on visitation of her 10-year old son be lifted. Duvall denied the former but granted the latter pending any family court action by the boy's biological father.
Gherty also requested a speedy trial which the Judge and the state, represented by Pierce County Assistant DA William Thorie assented to. A jury trial was scheduled for between May 2-11. Other pre-trial dates were scheduled between now and the trial date as well.
