Prescott PD statement says department conducting active investigation of missing person

The Prescott Police Department issued a press release this afternoon stating that it's still actively conducting an investigation of a missing person's case.

A resident of Prescott was listed as a missing person in Peoria County, Illinois.

The body of a male person discovered in Bell County, Kentucky on Tuesday. The statement said the Department is working closely with Pierce County District Attorney's office to make a positive ID on the body followed by notification of family before more details will be released.

A "person of interest" was taken into custody by the Prescott PD Tuesday and taken to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department. This person was identified as Rose Marie Kuehni of Prescott. No formal charges have been filed. 

The investigation has stretched over five states involving many law enforcement agencies including the Peoria County Sheriff's Department, Pierce County Sheriff's Department, Catoosa County, Ga., Sheriff's Department, Georgia Bureau of Investigations, the Medical Examiner's Office of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the Wisconsin State Patrol, Wisconsin Department of Justice, Hamilton County, Tenn., Sheriff's Department, Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga. Police Department and the Kentucky State Police.
