The Sea Wing disaster of 1890 on Lake Pepin was one of the largest which ever occurred on any inland water in the United States. The death toll when the Sea Wing ferry sank was 98. Johnson's talk will deal with the tragedy's unfolding along with related events along with the aftermath which affected Red Wing and nearby communities in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
