Prescott girls win MBC cross country title, boys third

NEW RICHMOND - The Prescott High School girls cross country team won its first-ever conference title as they they took first place in the 2015 Middle Border Conference meet Thursay at New Richmond High School.

PHS finished ahead of Ellsworth and New Richmond in the girls team standings. The host Tigers won the boys title with St. Croix Central second and Prescott tied for third with Osceola.

Amery's Alica Monson won the girls' race while Ellsworth's Sam Bell won for the boys on the 5000-meter course.

The Cardinals' Annika Carlson made first team All-MBC by finishing seventh while Cardinal runners Sam Ritter (eighth), Molly Sweet (ninth) and Hayley Hillman (10th) all made second team.

PHS's Philp Pena finished third in the boys' race while teammate Cody Hauenstein finished 10th to make second team All-MBC.
