The Prescott School Board was presented a plan for movement of students and staff for the fall of 2016 when the new high school building opens. The plan was presented to the board at its monthly meeting on Tuesday.
The plan calls for the middle school students to stay put in their school building while grades 3-4-5 move from Malone Elementary School to the top floor of the current high school building. The lower floor will be taken up by district staff offices along with Prescott Community Education classes. Malone will house 4-K Kindergarten 1st and 2nd grade classes.
The feedback on the plan from board members and those attending the meeting was positive but more study and parent and citizen outreach needs to be done before a final decision is to be made.
