The Prescott High School football team topped Highway 10 rival Ellsworth 25-22 Friday at Laney Field.
The win puts the Cardinals at 1-0 in the Middle Border Conference and 2-1 overall.
PHS built up a 25-7 lead in the fourth quarter and held the line when the Panthers rallied for 15 fourth quarter points. The win was only sealed with a minute to go when PHS recovered an attempted onside kick which went too far and was easily recovered by the Cards kick-return team.
Winning quarterback Luke Murphy scored a touchdown on a one-yard run and threw a key 13-yard TD pass to Jonah Luksich in the fourth quarter on a fourth down play. Nolan Schock and Payton Bartsch also had touchdowns for the home team.
