The heat in yesterday's meet took its toll on runners. Several had to be cooled down in an ice bucket afterward and treated by trainers and Baldwin EMS personnel, who arrived at the scene in ambulances. An SCC runner in the girls race was 50 yards from the finish line in first place before collapsing in the heat.
